Ecological benefits of CBF boilers use
From the environmental point of view, application of the CBF technology in industrial power generation and heating permits:
- Thanks solely to the peculiar fuel combustion method, reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides 1.3 to 1.5 times compared to the amount of NOх produced by layered combustion boilers; i.e., it achieves a concentration of 250-300 mg/m3.
- When combusting coal with a sulphur content up to 0.6-0.7%, reducing the sulphur oxide emissions to limit values without the use of costly special treatment methods.
- When combusting coal with an increased sulphur content, ensuring suppression of sulphur oxides using the simplest and least costly method: adding a calcite additive to the fuel.
- Achievement of at least a threefold reduction in the fly ash emissions without the use of costly and bulky mechanisms for electrical, filtering and wet gas treatment.
In conclusion, it must be noted that for fuels with particularly high contents of components resulting in noxious emissions and causing sever air pollution, the author of the CBF technology is prepared, given the strict requirements on maximum permissible pollutant emissions, to include in the project design an additional set of measures for deep waste gas treatment in a timely manner.
